The wines are sourced by Philippe Huser, who personally visits every domain and meets with the winemaker; his passion is felt at every step, from the selection process to the recommendation to the end consumer: we select and import wines that we would like our private clients to discover, and also wines that will be perfect in our on-trade sales to wine bars and restaurants throughout China.
PHILIPPE HUSER
Swiss-born and graduate of Lausanne Hotel School (EHL), Philippe has been working in Food & Beverage management positions in Switzerland, Hawaii, Bangkok and Macau for luxury hotel groups such as The Peninsula and Mandarin Oriental.
In 2004, Philippe came to Shanghai as Operations Manager for the US-based coffee shop chain The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. He opened China’s first fine wine and food restaurant NAPA at the end of 2007, followed by the opening of Bund Fine Wines in 2013 and Cellar to Table in 2020.
Wine has always been part of Philippe’s environment; growing up in Switzerland in the Lavaux wine region, he thought everyone owned vineyards and produced wines, except for his family. His passion for wine grew the longer he stayed away from Europe, and so he became one of the most successful wine importers in China.
MAXIME GIBRAT
After a successful hospitality career over 10 years in different countries (Ireland, England, Russia and China) for Michelin starred restaurants, luxurious hotels and private clubs, Maxime (a French national) decided to get into the fine wine business.

After almost 8 years growing with Links Concept in Shenzhen and Shanghai office - final position was General Manager East China - he joined Sarment China team as head of Sales in 2015.

In 2018, Maxime joined BUND Fine Wines and is developing the on-trade business to quality restaurants and wine bars, as well as supporting with wine sourcing.
KAREN MA
A Chinese national from Shandong Province, Karen discovered the beautiful world of fine wine as she met her soon-to-be husband Philippe in 2006.

After a master degree at Solvay business school in Brussels, Karen came back to China and started her own consultancy company in Shanghai.
Her next step was to join the private equity world with Citic Capital.

Today, Karen is taking care of BUND Fine Wines private customers side.
