BUND Bank of Fine Wines was established in 2013 in Shanghai by Swiss restaurateur Philippe Huser.

Initially aimed at sourcing and serving a wide range of fine wines to its sister restaurant (NAPA Wine Bar & Kitchen), the concept quickly expanded under strong demand.

The first cellars were located on the Bund, in an old building next to several banks, hence the name ‘Bank of Fine Wines’.

Now the very large stock is kept in modern warehouses with a temperature-controlled process that starts with the shipping of the wines from the domains, and extends all the way through storage and delivery to the final client, with the ultimate aim of respecting each wine and showing it at its optimum condition.

Our portfolio is very wide, covering the best-known labels as well as the rising stars and the smaller producers who offer an excellent value for quality.

OUR TEAM

The wines are sourced by Philippe Huser, who personally visits every domain and meets with the winemaker; his passion is felt at every step, from the selection process to the recommendation to the end consumer: we select and import wines that we would like our private clients to discover, and also wines that will be perfect in our on-trade sales to wine bars and restaurants throughout China.

In the last few years, we have established a network of on-trade sales to quality establishment throughout China, selling about 50% of our wines to quality restaurants and wine bars, including Michelin star restaurants in the biggest Chinese cities.
